I give back by donating to CharitiesSupport the Christian Crisis Center in Taylorsville, North CarolinaLast summer (2007), my husband and I were experiecing hard times and unfortunatly, we needed to utilize food stamps. Thankfully, we only needed them for 5 weeks. During this time, we were in danger of having our utilities cut off. We have a local center (2 branches) called the Christian Crisis Center. They help everyone, regardless of faith. When they have the donations, they are able to give money towards paying your water and/or electric bills. They also sell donated clothing very inexpensively and provide food to those experiencing temporary food shortages or while waiting for their food stamps begins. As I can, I buy extra cans of foods, such as soups and vegetables and donate them to the crisis center. I've donated clothing and children's books (so they can hand out gifts to the kids when their families come in for food). With our current economic crisis and the holidays fast approaching, I would like to be able to give more. This especially means by giving them cash - so they can get those supplies they truly need - stocking up on those items they are deficient in.
